Nail Biting

In this article I’m going to talk to you about helpful strategies to stop biting your nails. I think most of us have been through a stressful event and deal with it by nibbling away at our nail buds. Although this is the safest unhealthy coping skill I’m sure you would rather have long and healthy nails. So I’m going to tell you some ways that have helped me.

My first suggestion is the most obvious. If you spend money getting your nails done and like how pretty they look your less likely to bit them because you wont want to ruin them or waste money. If your like me and will bit through any pretty nail polish cut up garlic in some pieces and dump it into you favorite top coat. This not only strengthens your nails form the garlic but it taste horrible anytime you try to bit your nails.

My next suggestion that worked for me is to get acrylic nails. Theses are hard artificial nails on top of your real nails to make them longer. Their so thick and hard that you wont want to bit your nails because it will hurt biting them off. Do this for a month or two or as long as you need. By the time your ready to stop getting fake nails you will have broken your habit of biting your nails. At this point your natural nails should’ve also grown back nicely to.
