Necklaces

**Chewable Necklaces (Chewelry)**

Chewable necklaces, often called “chewelry,” are silicone or rubber necklaces made for kids who need to chew. They come in all kinds of shapes—bricks, hearts, discs, animal shapes, and more—so kids can pick something that feels cool, not babyish.

Why they help:
– They’re always available and easy to reach during the day.
– They keep kids from chewing on clothes, sleeves, or hair.
– They can be matched to the child’s chewing strength (soft, medium, or extra tough).

Things to think about:
– Make sure they’re made from food-grade, non-toxic materials.
– Look for breakaway clasps for safety.
– Some kids might chew through softer ones quickly, so you may need a stronger “heavy chewer” option.

Chewable necklaces can be great for school-age kids because they look like normal accessories, but secretly they’re a regulation tool. For some of us, having that one safe thing to chew on can make it easier to sit, listen, and get through the day.
